Who we are

Dear Folk Books is an independent ebook publisher. This site (libros.dearfolkbooks.com) is the catalog; purchases are made in our Payhip store (dearfolkbooks.com).

What data we collect

Free sample form: email (required to receive the sample) and name (optional), plus a checkbox where you agree to receive our emails. We also keep the book and page you asked from.

Optional form before payment: name and email, only if you choose to give them and tick the consent box. You can skip it and still buy.

Purchases: payment, billing details and file delivery are handled by Payhip. We do not see or store your card details.

Messages: if you write to us from the store's contact page, we use your message only to reply.

Emails and your consent

If you tick the box, we will use your email to send you news about new collections, books and offers from Dear Folk Books. The legal basis is your consent, which is voluntary: without it we do not send you emails of this kind. If you ask for the free sample, the email is needed to receive it, but the consent checkbox is what allows us to write to you afterwards.

You can withdraw consent and unsubscribe at any time, using the unsubscribe link we will include in every email or by writing to us from the store's contact page. We keep your data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. If we use an email service to send campaigns, we will name it on this page.

Who we share it with

We keep the name, email and a record of your consent (date, language and page) in a private Google spreadsheet. Cloudflare hosts the site. Payhip processes payments under its own privacy policy. We do not sell your data.

Cookies and storage

This site uses no advertising or tracking cookies. It only stores local flags (dfb_lead and dfb_sample) in your browser so the forms are not shown again. Payhip may use its own cookies when you open the store or checkout; those follow its policy.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your data, withdraw your consent and unsubscribe from updates at any time (rights recognised by the GDPR in the EU, the LGPD in Brazil and Law 81 of 2019 in Panama). Write to us from the store's contact page with the email you used.

Children and changes

The site is not aimed at children under 13. If we change this policy we will update the date on this page.
